At first sight, Peppe’s personality is complex. In reality, he just wants to poke a little fun at life, laugh at it – and in this way he becomes the target of his own irony : by making fun of life, and of himself. Is all this true? Has he really discovered truth? He looks at us with an expression half way between the offended and the amused….and is going to tell us all when he gets back from his next voyage…..
